Time

What is the default Time Zone for Match Times?
  • All times in elpito.com correspond to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) by default (i.e. match times shown in Event/'Schedule' or Event/'Play').
Can I change the default Time Zone?
  • Yes.
  • Each User can change the Default Time Zone to show all Times in their local time, or any other Time Zone they prefer.
How do I change the default Time Zone?
  1. Log-in at elpito.com
  2. Go to 'My Profile' from the Top menu
  3. Click 'My Profile' from the left-hand menu
  4. Under 'My Preferences' select your desired Time Zone
  5. 'Use my computer's Time Zone settings' is typically the best option, but you can choose a specific Time Zone and adjust Daylight Savings Time if you want to override your computer.
  6. Click 'Save'
  7. This procedure needs to be done only once for each user / computer / browser combination
Do I need to sign-in to see Times in my selected Time Zone?
  • Yes.
  • You need to sign-in for the system to recognize your Time Zone selection.
  • If you are not signed-in, Times are displayed in GMT.
Where do I see my current Time Zone?
  • Titles for all Times indicate the Time Zone in which Times are expressed.
Do I need to consider Time Zones?
  • It is advisable to have Time Zones in mind to avoid surprises on some situations.
  • For example, for the FIFA World Cup 2014, there are 4 games scheduled for Saturday June 14th 2014 in local Brazil time. However, in GMT, there are 3, as the 4th one takes place on Sunday June 15th 2014 at 1am.
  • So if you have the default Time Zone, and check the games for Jun 14th, you will be able to send only 3 Forecasts. You would need to go to Jun 15th to see the 4th game.
  • If you set your Time Zone to local time, most likely these situations will not cause a surprise.
  • Of course the best approach is to first enter your Forecasts by selecting the entire 'Group' phase or 'Knockout' phase, to make sure you don't miss any. Then, fine-tune them day-by-day if needed.
